Richard Edsel ''Ricky'' Warren
Richard Edsel ''Ricky'' Warren, 53, formerly of Roanoke Rapids and Whitakers, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Ricky was a native of Halifax County, the son of Harry E. ''Buddy'' Warren and Josephine ''Jo'' Warren. He was a 1975 graduate of Northwest High School and attended Halifax Community College. Ricky worked at Spring Arbor of the Outer Banks as the maintenance director.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Browder Warren; his daughter, Amy Jeffreys and her husband, Hilton, of Salem, VA; his son, Richard Hampton Warren and his wife, Tammy, of Whitakers; his parents, Buddy and Jo Warren of Littleton; his sister, Kim W. Johnston and her husband, ''Joe Mike'', of Roanoke Rapids; his brother, Joe Brax Warren, of Littleton; his mother-in-law, Sue Browder, of High Point; a special daughter, Jennifer High, of Rocky Mount; loving “gran gran” to his five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kyndal Grace, and Caleb Jeffreys, Tresten and Braiden Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at his parent’s home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hilton Jeffreys and Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
